Friends on Sennaya

Friends on Sennaya opened in May 2018 in a historic building on the Griboyedov Canal, a two-minute walk from the Sennaya Ploshchad, Sadovaya, and Spasskaya metro stations. A short fifteen-minute walk will take you to Nevsky Prospekt or the entrance to the Mariinsky Theatre. 

This new hostel near Sennaya Square can accommodate around 100 guests. The hostel is spread over two floors, each of which has 11 rooms; there are private rooms with double beds, and shared rooms for 6,8 or 10 people. The shared rooms have bunk beds made of solid pine that has been painted white, and lockers for storing personal belongings. Each bed has its own curtains, individual lights, and sockets.The beds in the private rooms are on raised platforms. The rooms also have shelves for clothing, a couple of chairs, and an LCD TV. The windows of the private rooms provide beautiful views of the Griboyedov Canal. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor. There are 10 shower rooms and eight toilets in the hostel. 

The interior design features light, cheerful colours, while of particular note are the original avant-garde posters adorning the rooms and corridors and the abstract paintings in the living rooms, which provide the icing on the cake. This vibrant graphic art offers something for everyone.  

Each floor has a living room with a large table, where guests can enjoy snacks and conversation. Nearby is a kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and tableware.
